Cork is Ireland's third most populous city with over 125,000 citizens. Situated in the South West it is only 2.5 hours from Dublin and 1.5 hours from Limerick. The excellent infrastructure and fast internet network have attracted large global IT firms such as Apple to set up shop here. MedTech giants such as Boston Scientific have facilities here. Cork has a reputation as a centre for educational excellence. There are 2 universities and top research facilities in the city. Cork has many historical points of interest, including the famous Blarney stone, and has a slightly touristic feel. The dining is strong in Cork, with no less than 3 Michelin starred restaurants raising the bar for culinary excellence.
