What is it like living in Eindhoven as an expat?
Eindhoven is in the South of the Netherlands, 20 minutes from Belgium, 50 minutes from Germany and only 2 hours’ drive to France. It is becoming a hub for design, innovation and technology. It’s universities and international companies are attracting expats from all over the world. The major high-tech employers in the city are Philips, ASML and the High-tech Campus, drawing top talent to the region. There is a network of expat organisations to serve this new international community. Many expat social clubs and international schools provide numerous activities throughout the year. People from Eindhoven are known for their bourgondisch attitude, which means they love food and festivities. There are many opportunities for revelry including the Brabant’s Carnaval and the Kings day celebrations. Eindhoven is also home to one of the top Dutch football teams, PSV, and has a major stadium which hosts several matches and events.
