Your challenge:

  •     Lead an R&D project in Flue Gas Treatment (FGT) Technology as main contributor or in small teams; ensure that the goals are achieved in financial, technical, scheduling and qualitative terms
  •     Plan and execute theoretical investigations as well as practical tests and experiments (typically on large-scale plants) – ideally combine modelling and experimental validation
  •     Develop and coordinate design documents, programs, tools and technical manuals
  •     Design, program and commission dedicated control logics for FGT technologies in Energy from Waste plants
  •     Carry out technology evaluation and feasibility-related studies
  •     Systematically acquire knowledge, elaborate correlations by data analysis
  •     Participate in the definition and implementation of the R&D product and development strategy
  •     Travel activity 5 - 10%

Your experience

  •     Engineering degree (MSc or dissertation in process or chemical engineering)
  •     At least 3 – 5 years professional experience – ideally with sorbent-based flue gas treatment
  •     In-depth knowledge of heterogeneous non-catalytic reaction technology and mass transfer
  •     Good experience with fluid mechanics and process design, especially in solid handling
  •     Analytical strength with flair for data analysis
  •     Programming, simulation and control experience is a plus (Matlab/Simulink, Aspen, Python, Siemens PLC platforms)
  •     Very good command of English. German and other languages is a big plus (testing on international sites)
  •     Structured approach, work independently, ability to learn things quickly
  •     Doer with very good communication skills and presentation technique, who makes and implements decisions
